Monisha Logan

Monisha Logan is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Law and Legal Studies at Carleton University. Her research examines the intersection of mental health responses, race, and culture. In particular, her work focuses on mental healthcare and cultural supports in the Peel region, exploring how cultural understandings and conceptions of mental health shape institutional resources and programming.

Previously, her MA research examined the relationship between race and affect in cases involving filmed incidents of state violence. Focusing on the emotional impact of audiovisual content, this research explored how race and narratives of victimization shape public perceptions of death and state harm.
