Megan Bokenfohr

Megan is a Master’s student at the University of Toronto’s Dalla Lana School of Public Health, specializing in community mental health and addictions. She has research experience examining media representations of eating disorder recovery, with particular attention to the ontological implications of newspaper discourse. Her interests focus on identifying and addressing systemic barriers to mental health care and reducing stigma at the structural level. She aims to contribute to the field of mental health policy, with an emphasis on engaging individuals with lived experience and promoting evidence-based approaches.

Megan is currently a research trainee in the Predictive Care Lab, contributing to a project that investigates the educational experiences of computational scientists working in the mental health and healthcare sectors. She looks forward to applying this research to develop an educational framework that fosters interdisciplinary learning between artificial intelligence/machine learning developers and health professionals.
