Marriah Ramadan
Marriah is a Research Trainee in the Predictive Care lab and a third-year undergraduate student studying Psychology and Criminology and Socio-Legal Studies at the University of Toronto.
Their major research interests include discovering and addressing the link between mental health, the law, and criminology/police interaction across culture. They are also deeply interested in discovering new barriers to accessing healthcare across cultures and societies. Marriah is passionate about providing equitable and effective treatment for mental health in various forms, including accessibility, social resources, medication, and interaction with healthcare providers and first responders. They have a deep-rooted passion for advocacy, accessibility, storytelling, and equitable treatment of all bodies, stemming from their own experience living with and advocating for chronic illness.
Marriah has extensive experience volunteering within healthcare across age groups, including adult mental health and child care. Additionally, they hold an executive position for numerous school clubs that focus on increasing accessibility to students through mental health care, economic resources, and academic help.
In their free time, Marriah is a photographer, explores new places within the city, and enjoys reading crime and mystery.
